About Expressions of Art

and the West Carleton Arts Society

Expressions of Art is West Carleton Art Society’s premier art show and sale and has been in operation for more than 25 years. Held annually at the Carp Agricultural Hall (just west of Ottawa, Ontario), it features the work of approximately 30 artists from around the region. In 2019, more than 2000 visitors came through the doors.

For 2020, the show moved from an in-house selection committee to a formal jury process, with 30 artists qualifying. However, due to Covid-19, the West Carleton Arts Society elected to move the show online featuring 26 of the original artists.

West Carleton Arts Society

The West Carleton Arts Society (WCAS) has been a non-profit volunteer organization of active, talented visual artists and fine crafts people since 1988. We have an active program including monthly ARTiculate Fireside artist chats, Spring Fling Exhibition and Sale, annual Spring Into Art Conference, Workshops, summer showcases, our fall Expressions of Art Fine Art and Fine Crafts Show and Sale and the $100 and Under Christmas Sale. In addition we have numerous venues throughout the Ottawa region, for our artists to show their work. Our aims, structure and operating principles are set out in the Constitution, accepted February, 2014. We were incorporated on September 24, 2015.
