GINNY FOBERT

Once told that photography was not art, Ginny Fobert believes that a photograph is made, not taken. It is made in your own mind and with your own eye, and can indeed be art! She is primarily a self-taught photographer whose goal is to bring her photography further into the art world using unique photographic techniques. Ginny is an accomplished fine art photographer who has had numerous solo exhibitions with the City of Ottawa. She has been involved in multiple art festivals and shows across Ontario, as well as having representation in several art galleries. Ginny presently serves as Vice President of the West Carleton Arts Society and is a member of the Kanata Civic Arts Gallery, and Arts Carleton Place.

Description of artwork
Her newest series consists of in-camera, inverted double-exposure photographs; the second photo taken with the camera upside down. Each photo is then post-processed on the computer to reveal the ‘ghosts’ of the two exposures. Represented here are also a series of Intentional Camera Movement photos, as well a musical theme; each image is composed of several layers.
